Marshall Research Library in Lexington, Virginia, on May 23, 1964. "We will continue to build bridges across the gulf which has divided us from Eastern Europe," states President Johnson. "They will be bridges of increased trade, of ideas, of visitors, and of humanitarian aid." Mrs. George C. Marshall stands with President and Mrs. Johnson, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Omar N. Bradley next to a bust of General Marshall displayed in the lobby of the Marshall Library.
