Description: Sound (Norwegian), b&w, 18 min.? (This may be either the original 4-reel version or the later 2-reel (18 min.) version. By 1950, Aura, Norway's hydroelectric complex, is finally ready to supply power to the nation and to some of its neighbors. The fascinating story of this monster undertaking is told by a worker at the site. Begun before the war, the project flagged during the Depression years. Efforts of the Nazi occupiers to complete the project to serve the German war effort were met by sabotage. After the war the breakthrough came, thanks to the Marshall Plan, which made it possible to procure scarce construction and generating equipment from all over Europe. Unusually powerful camerawork and editing. 1950. Written and produced by Per Borgerson, directed by Lauritz Falk, camera Per Johnson. Norsk Dokumentarfilm, Oslo, for ECA Norway. NB: NFI has 2 copies in 16mm. NFI also has other films created by the Norwegian central office for hydroelectric power about the AURA complex in different stages of completion. Inquire directly.
