Description: Sound (English), b&w, 11 min. Eighth of twelve monthly newsreels about the European Recovery Program: Paris, France: Paul G. Hoffman, ECA Administrator, holds a farewell press conference and tours a facility making streptomycin; Germany: Buildings are constructed for Berlin Industrial Fair, and Gen. Maxwell Taylor lays cornerstone of the George C. Marshall building; Greece: census machines from the U.S. are being put to use; France: Liberte, formerly the German passenger ship Europa and now rebuilt with Marshall Plan aid, departs from Paris on its maiden voyage, and later is welcomed into New York harbor. A French official thanks the American people; (NOTE: The 1954 catalogue notes the last segment as U.S.A.
