Description: Sound (English), b&w, 27 min. A report on conditions and events in war-torn French Indochina as matters stood in 1951, with emphasis on American assistance to the French forces and the civilian population. The number of American tanks and quantity of other materiel supplied to the French forces is second only to that sent to Korea, the narrator observes. Daily life in Saigon and at the front is shown. American technicians work on emergency housing projects and fight malaria with DDT. Bao Dai is shown and characterized as "a resolute ruler."
