Description: Sound (English?), b&w, 11 (?) min. These are a few scenes from other ECA films now named respectively 111-MSA-1043, 111-MSA-1033, and 111-MSA-1063. No reference copy is currently available except as seen in the above-mentioned films; information on the film's contents comes from the NARA film catalogue cards for RG 111-MSA. This film is included in the filmography in case the footage is of better quality than that of the complete film versions. #1: Italy: Excellent scenes of the manufacturing of children's shoes in an Italian factory. The factory has reopened through aid from the Marshall Plan and the Children's Fund of the United Nations. Children line up in a courtyard, where officials give them new shoes. Old, worn-out shoes are compared with the new ones. Boys and girls eagerly put on their new shoes and smile broadly. #2: France: A shopkeeper doles out milk from a can, using an old-type dipper. A close-up shows microbes as seen through a microscope. Then a milk plant is shown in operation; bottles are sterilized and milk is pasteurized. The pasteurization plant was opened through Marshall Plan aid. #3: Mazamet, France: The segment of the longer film, The HOME WE LOVE/MAZAMET), supposedly shows the de-napping of hides. See "NEWSREELS(?) (series)" for more information. NARA ref. copy: VT.
