The film shows the manufacture of skis from hickory wood imported from America under the Marshall Plan, which allowed Norwegian citizens to indulge in a favorite pastime and the ski-troops of the Norwegian army, a new member of the Atlantic Pact, to be properly equipped for winter maneuvers.
