Description: Sound (German), b&w, 10 min. 16mm, 274 m. On February 1, 1953, a freak storm in the North Sea caused terrible floods, inundating the coasts of Britain and Holland. In Holland the floods swept south into the large island of Zeeland, devastating the country and drowning 1400 people. British and American helicopters and Scandinavian Red Cross teams worked to save lives, and French, British, and Canadian engineers and a task force of 5,000 Americans were brought in to join the Dutch in fighting Hollandís oldest enemy. A total of 50,000 persons and 150 aircraft were sent to Hollandís aid - an impressive example of international cooperation. 1953. Sponsored and produced by MSA/SRE.
