Description: Sound (English), color, 35(?) min. This is the original film sponsored by the AFL Amalgamated Meat Cutters' Union, of which a re-edited, b&w, 16mm version was sponsored by MSA/SRE in 1951. Both the original and the re-edited version were produced by New World Productions, Hollywood. Shows the operations of the AFL butchers' union, including working conditions in the butchering and meat-packing industry. Demonstrates how grievances are settled and bargaining is carried on with management. NB(1): No existing copies of the 20-min. version re-edited by MSA/SRE are known at this time, but it probably would have been similar to the original. NB(2): Research regarding rights would be needed before copying or using this original version. NARA ref. copy of the original: VT is listed on NAIL.
