Description: Sound (English?), b&w, 22 min. A single swarm of locusts may weigh 1000 tons and fly 2000 miles on its path of destruction! The film details the life cycle of the locust and the methods in use to locate and destroy the locust in its hopper stage, before the insects can swarm and destroy all vegetation-as they do periodically in 25 nations, from Central Africa to India. The film concentrates on the locust control of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, and on the assistance provided the FAO by America's Point 4 Program. 1952.
